WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE TRUMP/HARRIS CAMPAIGN STRATEGIES

Donald Trump's campaign emphasized themes such as economic insecurity, concerns about crime linked to illegal immigration, and threats to traditional values and national pride in order to amplify voter anxiety. He presented himself as the decisive leader capable of addressing these challenges to restore America's greatness. To influence voters' inherent conservative concerns, Trump's strategy was to trigger their anxieties.

Kamala Harris' campaign strategy was to trigger voter empathy, focusing on optimism and progress by emphasizing hope, inclusivity, and diversity, generally in the context of women's rights and racial and social justice. To build trust and credibility, she cited her experience as vice president and as a prosecutor. However, having no response to why large numbers of illegal immigrants entered the country during Biden's term and that her economic policies would not differ from his did not satisfy many traditional Democrat voters concerned with personal financial difficulty and border security.

Trump triggered voter anxiety while Harris triggered voter empathy. Not surprisingly, conservative and liberal voters remain polarized after the election.
